Omaha is the largest city in Nebraska, located in the far eastern portion of the state. It is the home of investor Warren Buffett and Creighton University, and was the birthplace of Gerald Ford. It is ranked by Forbes as the 8th most conservative large city. The mayor is Jean Stothert.

Omaha lies along the Missouri River, and along with Council Bluffs in Iowa makes up the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area.

"Omaha Beach" was the code name for part of the D-Day invasion in 1944.
