Andrew Johnson was the 17th President of the United States of America. He was the first president to be impeached by Congress, but he was not removed from office.
Accession to Presidency
He became President in 1865 after Abraham Lincoln was assassinated at Ford's Theatre while watching the play "Our American Cousins".
