Homemaking

Homemaking is the traditional and well-established practice of maintaining and managing the home. Tradition has ascribed this role to women, who have chosen to undertake their domestic duties, such as childrearing, cooking, cleaning, education, etc. These tasks are demanding and require much skill to do well, thus homemakers should be accorded respect for their superb performance. Homemaking is usually a full-time job, though several admirable women, such as Sarah Palin, have managed to juggle homemaking with a successful career.

Homemaking is the natural counterpart of breadmaking and these were the traditional gender roles in successful marriages.
