Yusuf Islam, better known as Cat Stevens (born Steven Georgiou in London, 1948), is a British folk rock singer, who was most popular in the 1970s.
In the late 1970s, Stevens converted to Islam (specifically the radical Wahhabi sect, which led to Al-Qaeda's creation), and stopped performing music until recently, because Wahhabi Islam prohibits music. Stevens is known to have donated money to some Islamic terrorist groups. For those reasons, he is banned from Israel.
In 2002, Islam was placed on a no-fly list which prohibits the people listed from traveling by air into the United States. The reason was probably his donations to Islamic terror groups and his anti-Israel stance.
