Andrew Johnson was the 17th President of the United States of America. He was the first president to be impeached by Congress; he was not removed from office, and is considered by many to be one of the greatest American Presidents.

Accession to Presidency

He became President after Abraham Lincoln was assassinated at Ford's Theatre while watching the play "Our American Cousins".
