Nebula hypothesis

The nebula hypothesis (alternately, nebular hypothesis) is model of the formation of a solar system. When applied to our Solar System (i.e. the one containing Earth), it contradicts God's role as Creator of Earth and the heavens and instead follows a Big Bang theory of star and planet creation.
The nebula hypothesis theorizes that a solar system begins as a rotating cloud of gas and dust that contracts to create a flat disk with a star at its center. Planets grow from the particles surrounding the star, creating a solar system.
