Long Island

Long Island is an island off the Atlantic coastline of the United States, part of the state of New York. The western extremity of the island is occupied by the boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens, part of New York City. The major part of the island is occupied by the counties of Nassau and Suffolk; the latter county contains the upmarket holiday resort area of The Hamptons.
