Classical Civilizations

Classical Civilizations is term for ancient civilizations that have had a major influence on the culture of modern Western civilisation, such as Ancient Greece and the Romans. The symbology of these two cultures are still used in Western culture today; the use of the Eagle as a motif such as in Ancient Rome occurs throughout many Western cultures, often those who have been former imperial powers or held imperial ambitions, the term Caesar or corruptions such as Tsar, and Kaiser, are often used as the title of Emperor-like figures, most buildings related to the business of government in Western countries have their architecture derived from that of Ancient Greece and Rome, or at least those built in traditional materials, latin is used throughout Western legal systems to describe terms and concepts, pro bono publico for instance. And indeed scientific names are either in latin, greek or a combination of the two. Template:Stub
