Kraftwerk were a German group instrumental in developing electronic music. They attempted to create a music that was true to the spirit of Europe, in contrast to the many bands at the time who were copying American musical models. They also celebrated what they perceived to be the beauty of technology - songs such as Neon Lights, Europe Endless, Trans-Europe Express and Autobahn reflected their ethos.
