Gaza GenoLIE
Gaza GenoLIE is an advocacy and educational campaign launched in August 2026 that debunks allegations of a supposed "genocide" in the Gaza Strip during the Oct 7 war. The campaign describes its name as an acronym for a "GENerated and Orchestrated LIE", the allegation is promoted by anti-Zionist and antisemitic networks worldwide.[1] (Fake genocide: part of what others call: Pallyweid buzzwords).
The initiative was launched by an international coalition of organizations. The Jerusalem Post reported on 13 August 2026 that the coalition comprised 55 organizations and included the Ireland-Israel Alliance, Solomon Observatory on Discrimination, Sweden-Israel Alliance, StandWithUs, the World Jewish Congress, CAMERA, and the National Jewish Advocacy Center.[2] Other reporting has described the founding coalition as comprising more than 35 or 40 organizations.[3][4]
Campaign
The campaign's website presents eight pieces of a "Gaza GenoLIE puzzle", each addressing an argument concerning allegations of genocide in Gaza.[5]
The first section asserts that accusations of genocide against Israel emerged immediately after the 7 October 2023 (genocidal) Hamas-led attack, including on social media and at protests on 8 October, before Israel's ground operation in Gaza in response. Clearly, a genocide allegation made so soon after the attack could not have been based on any developed pattern of conduct.[6]
A second section debunks the legal characterization of Israel's conduct as supposed genocide. The requirement of specific intent under Article II of the Genocide Convention, reminding that Israel's stated military objectives, Hamas's conduct and measures intended to reduce civilian casualties constitute the opposite explanations for the conduct in Gaza.[7]
Other sections address subjects including human shields, allegations concerning famine (debunked) and the presentation of sick or malnourished children (as exposed with pre conditions), and accusations concerning journalists[8] (dubbed by others: jiharnoulists: jihadi journalists).
Statements by organizers
Representatives of participating organizations have characterized the campaign as an effort to counter misinformation and misuse of the legal term "genocide". The International Legal Forum described the alleged "Gaza GenoLIE" as a deliberate weaponization of facts and law. Liora Rez, executive director of StopAntisemitism, described the genocide allegation as a "modern blood libel", while activist Ilan Sinelnikov said that the campaign was intended to make it easier to challenge false claims.[9]
The campaign has also reminder that the International Court of Justice's January 2024 provisional-measures order in South Africa v. Israel did not constitute a final finding that Israel was committing genocide. The campaign distinguishes the court's preliminary findings from the evidentiary standard required for a final determination on genocidal intent.[10]
Reception and characterization
The campaign forms part of the wider political and legal dispute over the characterization of Israel's conduct in Gaza. Its own website presents the genocide allegation as a generated and orchestrated lie[11]
The campaign was reported on by the Jerusalem Post and National Post in August 2026, and has subsequently been promoted through social-media and video channels associated with participating organizations and supporters.[12]
