Oracle is an American technology company based out of Redwood shores, California. Founded in 1977, their current CEO is Safra Catz while their executive chairman and CTO is co-founder Larry Ellison and their vice chairman is Jeff Henly. Their most successful product is the Java programming language which they claim has been used in over 1 Billion devices since its inception in the 1990s. Their current product line includes Database software, Cloud engineered systems and other enterprise grade products. In 2019 they were named as the 2nd largest software company by market capitalization.[1]
Oracle bears an enormous amount of debt, estimated at about $120 billion as of early 2026, which is roughly double the debt carried by Facebook (Meta) and Amazon.com.
