When the Soviet Union did nuclear tests, a lot of them were in Uzbekistan. The Russians played a big role in the Soviet Union. And there are other reasons why many people of Uzbekistan are not fond of Russians. "Uzbekistan's history is closely tied to Russian colonialism and the Soviet system. The Russian Empire gradually expanded into Central Asia in the 19th century, and the region was the last frontier of Russian imperialism."[1]

Also, "The war in eastern Ukraine has spurred calls for independence for Karakalpakstan, a depressed semi-autonomous region of Uzbekistan."[2]

So you can speculate about CIA involvement in his killing all you want, but when Russians receive some blowback for their various misdeeds, you can't blame it all on the USA. Conservative (talk) 07:10, December 18, 2024 (EST)
