Lancashire County Council (LCC) is a local authority covering an area of North West England, established in 1974. It is a two-tier authority, with local government responsibilities being shared between the county council and the councils of the various districts into which the council area is split. Lancashire County Council is named after the county Lancashire but, despite covering a large part of that county's geographical area, it not only excludes more than half of its population, it also includes an area of Yorkshire in the Forest of Bowland.

Lancashire County Council meets at County Hall in Preston.
