Emory is a city in east Texas.

It is the county seat of Rains County, one of the (geographically) smallest counties in the state. Both the city and county are named after Emory Rains, a local legislator instrumental in creating the state's Homestead Law, one of the most homeowner-friendly statutes of its kind in the United States.

Although the city is small, it is centrally located between two of Texas' most popular lakes: Lake Tawakoni to its west and Lake Fork Reservoir to its east.
