Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ (November 12, 1880) was a massive bestselling novel by the American Civil War General Lew Wallace, which was published by Harper & Brothers after seven years of writing by the author near his residence in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

The full book is in the public domain and freely available online.[1]
