Salud Ortiz Carbajal (born November 18, 1964 (age 61)) is a left-wing Democrat currently representing California's 24th congressional district in the [[United States House of Representatives.
Carbajal is a member of the New Democrat Coalition.
U.S. House of Representatives
2016 election
After then-representative Lois Capps announced that she would not seek re-election to another House term in 2016,[1] Carbajal ran for the seat and won by just under 7% of the votes cast.[2]
2018 election
Rep. Carbajal was re-election in the 2018 Midterms by a seventeen-point margin.[3]
Tenure
Carbajal supported[4] and voted in favor of[5] the impeachment coup against Donald Trump.
Phony “moderate”
Despite being described by some as having "a moderate sensibility",[6] Carbajal is among the co-sponsors of the radical Green New Deal.[7] He has also co-sponsored a carbon tax bill introduced by RINO Brian Fitzpatrick.[8]
