An origins theory is a kind of theory that explains the Creation. The two major competing origins theories are baraminology and the Big Bang (which is typically associated with evolution). Charles Darwin may have coined the term when he titled his most famous work On the Origin of Species.
There two broad categories of "origins" that science seeks to understand - the origin of life on earth, and the origin of the physical universe.
