Indiana Wants Me is a 1970 pop song by Canadian singer R. Dean Taylor, his only US hit (reaching #1 on the Cash Box charts).

The singer is a fugitive from Indiana, wanted for murdering a man who insulted his wife and mother of his child. He misses his family and sings what he states is a final letter to his family, vowing not to be caught. Eventually he is surrounded by police, who use a bullhorn to encourage him to give up.

Several versions of the song were released to radio:

  • The main version opens with sirens, and ends with the man engaged in a gunfight with police.
  • A second version omits the gunfight ending.
  • Yet another version also omits the opening (sirens), as people complained they were too realistic, thinking they were actually being pulled over.
