Catholic-lite is a relatively common term used to describe the nature of the Episcopal Church in the United States, or Anglicanism in general. It was coined by the late comedian Robin Williams. It refers to the fact that the Roman Catholic Church shares some traditions with Anglicanism, even if Anglicanism is still a Protestant or "reformed catholic" tradition. This term serves as a helpful descriptor for those unfamiliar with Anglicanism but familiar with Roman Catholicism.
