Triple point

The triple point of any pure substance is that combination of temperature and pressure at which all three phases of that substance (solid, liquid, and gas) coexist simultaneously in thermodynamic equilibrium.

The triple point of water is used to define the Kelvin temperature scale. It occurs at a temperature of 273.16 K = 0.01 °C = 32.018 °F.
