The Legislative Branch is one of the three major components of the United States government, comprised of Congress and the committees formed within Congress. The other two are the Executive Branch (most notably the President, his staff and the bureaucracy) and the Judicial Branch (the entire federal judiciary, though most notably the Supreme Court of the United States).
