Claire McCaskill

Claire McCaskill (born July 24, 1953) is currently the junior United States Senator from the state of Missouri and a member of the Democratic Party. She defeated Republican Senator Jim Talent in 2006 with 50% of the vote. On September 6, 2006, she publicly stated that "George Bush let people die on rooftops in New Orleans because they were poor and because they were black." When addressing Hurricane Katrina.
