The term "Palestinian" generally refers to Palestinian Arabs who seek to create a Palestinian homeland in Palestine - The Palestinian Authority has called for a second state beside Israel within recognized boundaries of the West Bank and Gaza Strip occupied by Israel in the 1967 War whereas Hamas which controls Gaza advocates the destruction of Israel and the return of all land taken from Palestinians in the creation of Israel in 1948. Most Palestinians reside in Gaza, the West Bank.
