::::Wait, the liberal brainwashing in public school history textbooks has been since the 30s? One thing certainly interesting was that when I had learned about the Stalwarts/civil service reform advocates in high school, we weren't told that the Stalwarts' support for the spoils system had to do with their support for civil rights, and I initially got the impression that those who advocated for the civil service system were the good guys. The history textbooks also excluded mentions of liberal racist Democrats like Hugo Black, and of course promoted the Southern strategy narrative. —<code><span style="color:black; background:#FFABAB">LT</span></code>May D.C., his mother, and I.S. be all well! Monday, 16:22, 4 January 2021 (EST)

This statement makes no sense:

Less opposed? Opposition to slavery is what created the Republican party, fought the Civil War with 600,000 dead, and emerged victorious. This is pure, unadulterated commie/Democrat agitprop as old as the New Deal. 16:07, 4 January 2021 (EST)

Hmm, that does sound very misleading/false. I've also heard liberals claim that it was Andrew Johnson who wanted to punish the South more than Lincoln and the Republicans did. —LTMay D.C., his mother, and I.S. be all well! Monday,
Sure. It's the standard commie/Dem agitprop in school texts books since the New Deal. RobSFree Kyle! 16:16, 4 January 2021 (EST)
