Brave is an internet browser developed by Brave Software, Inc. based on the Chromium browser. It blocks advertisements and trackers. Brave supports Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. The current version features five default search engines: Bing, Duck Duck Go, Google, Startpage and Yahoo.[1] They also use Tor in their private browsing mode.[2]
Brave was founded on May 28, 2015, by the conservative CEO Brendan Eich[3], the co-founder of Mozilla[4] and creator of the javascript programming language.[5] It was originally situated in Delaware, where it was known as Hyperware Labs, Inc. They later moved to California where they were renamed as Brave Software, Inc.
