Yellow is one of the three primary pigments along with red and blue. Mixing yellow and red makes orange while mixing yellow and blue makes green.
The color yellow corresponds to wavelengths of 565 nanometers to 590 nanometers in the electromagnetic spectrum.[1]
Yellow in Ayurvedic Medicine
In Ayurvedic medicine yellow represents pitta (fire and water elements) dosha and agni. In Sanskrit the word "pitta" literally means "yellow". Red and orange also represent pitta and agni.
