Aristides (530 - 468 B.C.) was an Athenian statesman and general and a founder of the Delian League. He fought in the Battle of Marathon. He was elected archon in 489 B.C., was ostricized in 482 B.C., and came back to help fight the Persians in 480 B.C. He set the wages each state was to pay to the Delian League.[1]
Aristides (also known as "Aristides the Athenian") lived in the mid-second century. He was converted philosopher from Athens who wrote an apology for the Christian faith to Emperor Antoninus Pius in AD 140.
