Key West is a city located on the island of the same name located in the Florida Keys, a chain of small islands and islets extending westwards into the Gulf of Mexico from southern Florida. It is the westernmost of the Keys which can be accessed by car via U.S. Highway 1 (better known in the Keys as the Overseas Highway).
It is noted for its Bohemian and homosexual-accepting lifestyle and is associated with the author Ernest Hemingway who stayed there for a time.
