Aristides (530 - 468 B.C.) was an Athenian statesman and general and a founder of the Delian League. He fought in the Battle of Marathon. He was elected archon in 489 B.C., was ostracized in 482 B.C., and came back to help fight the Persians in 480 B.C. He set the wages each state was to pay to the Delian League.[1]
