Donald C. “Don” Bolduc (born 1961-1962) is a retired United States Army Brigadier General who ran for U.S. Senate from New Hampshire in the 2020 elections to unseat liberal Democrat Jeanne Shaheen. In 2022 Bolduc won primary election running against incumbent Democrat Senator Maggie Hassan.
Emphasizing how Dems' open border has allowed deadly fentanyl to pour into the United States, Bolduc pulled within 1 point of the entrenched liberal opponent Hassan as of the day before the 2022 midterm elections.[1]
Early life
Donald C. Bolduc was born in New Hampshire and raised in Laconia, New Hampshire on the Bolduc Family Farm. His father was the city's mayor and the councilor.
Military service
Bolduc served in the United States Army for over thirty years ever since 1981, having lead groups in the War in Afghanistan fighting the Taliban. He miraculously survived a helicopter crash in addition to an accidentally dropped 2,000-lb bomb. Although plagued with PTSD as a senior officer, Bolduc's leadership proved its worthiness, and he has been known by colleagues with the nicknames “Captain America” and “Everyone’s General”.
2020 candidacy for U.S. Senate
It was announced in June 2019 that Bolduc was officially running to oppose Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) in the 2020 U.S. Senate election in New Hampshire.[2] However, he lost in the Republican primary to his Establishment backed (and Trump-endorsed) opponent Corky Messner,[3] who would lose the general election to Shaheen by a large margin.[4]
The Establishment support of endorsement of attorney Corkey Messner over Bolduc in 2020, only to result in Messner losing in a landslide, has an issue of continuing debate.[5]
