More broadly, it can refer to the targeting of the wider Scottish diaspora, such as the Ulster Scots; a good example of which is the frequent attempts by far-left Irish 'nationalists', who attempt to deny the existence of Ulster Scots culture and humiliate speakers of the Ulster dialect of the Scots language.[1]
