Would You Catch a Falling Star is a country song by John Anderson, released in 1982 as the second single from his album I Just Came Home to Count the Memories. It would reach #6 on the country charts.
The song is a humorous look at the pitfalls of fame. Told in third person, the narrator tells of a country singer who, at one time, had the trappings of success ("he had a silver-plated bus/and a million country fans", along with an untold number of groupies). Now, the singer drives around in a "little van" with only a handful of diehard fans remaining, having no idea where he will spend the night.
