On the entry on Canada, you added the following:

Mr. Harper described Canada to a June 1997 Montreal meeting of the Council for National Policy as "a Northern European welfare state in the worst sense of the term, and very proud of it. Canadians make no connection between the fact that they are a Northern European welfare state and the fact that we have very low economic growth, a standard of living substantially lower than yours, a massive brain drain of young professionals to your country, and double the unemployment rate of the United States."

Please provide the source for this quote. From the text, it looks as if Mr. Harper was addressing a group of American politicians. I find it hard to believe a Canadian politician would call down his own country to a group of what would be, from his perspective, foreign politicians. Further, what purpose does the quote serve in the article? If it was a valid quote, I could see it being applicable in a discussion of Canada's government, but there's no such discussion in the article. As a result, the inclusion of this quote appears to serve no other function than to denigrate Canada and Canadians. Niwrad 21:50, 18 March 2007 (EDT)
