His Dark Materials

Thank you for the invitation to assist and thank you for being honest as to your worldview within your user section. Please be aware though that the concept of a book series being written as the anti-Chronicles of Narnia and anti-God will probably not be viewed favorably within this forum. This resource is generally populated by people who have been touched by God in their lives, or those who are respectful of that viewpoint and family friendly environment. For us there isn't so much of a question of whether God exists or his love for us as much as understanding his desire for our lives on a personal level. As you can imagine then someone from the outside trying to keep people from ever knowing that same love isn't going to be high on our list of people we admire.

I will try to give you my thoughts on your contributions as I can. Generally we like to see users who can contribute on a number of different levels more than one or two specific projects.

I look forward to seeing your work. Learn together 15:48, 5 December 2007 (EST)

Looking at it so far, I would say mention of his atheism should be made in the opening paragraph when describing him. If he was an author that just happened to be an atheist, then that's one thing. But he is writing for the viewpoint of atheism, so that is germane. I would also be careful that the response section is clear as to the general Christian viewpoint, which is not positive or neutral. Quote mining can always pull up some positive statement, but the general view is clear and that should be evident. The plot section will probably stay pretty much as is, after all, it's only plot. I'm not seeing an email address for you. Do you have one? It may be easier for me to email you directly. I find personal one on one conversation is often more productive than using talk pages. Just thought I'd pop in and say thanks for the edit to the Balthamos/Baruch section. I maintain that homoerotic is probably a more accurate description of their relationship, since it's not explicitly sexual, but it's a fair call for the sake of convenience. Anyway, keep up the good work. Underscoreb 19:05, 13 December 2007 (EST)
