Tentative directions for MS Edge, from Microsoft:

1. Go to the search engine you want as default
2. In the upper right corner select More actions (...) > Settings
3. Scroll down to Advanced Settings, select View Advanced Settings
4. Scroll down to "Search address bar with," open the list and select <Add new>
