Ayn Rand Philosophy

The article states,"Her followers today tend to be libertarians and predominantly unmarried men, many of whom are drawn to a self-indulgent lifestyle consistent with Rand's philosophy." However in her book "For the New Intellectual" she said, "Achievement of your happiness is the only moral purpose of your life, and that happiness, not pain or mindless self-indulgence, is the proof of your moral integrity, since it is the proof and the result of your loyalty to the achievement of your values" according to Brainy Quotes. I think her statement reveals that a self-indulgent lifestyle is certainly not consistent with her philosophy. Also there is no evidence given that her followers are predominantly unmarried men.
