I've been accused by some professed "Christians" that I promote a "gospel of works" because... I point out that Scripture commands Christians to obey the law after repenting. Really, I'm supposedly propagating a "works-based salvation"? Let's take a look at the following verses in the New Testament! (I will add on to this over time)

• Luke 11:27–28: "As he said these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, 'Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts at which you nursed!' But he said, 'Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!'"
• John 14:15: "If you love me, you will keep my commandments."
• John 15:10: "If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love."
• Romans 3:31: "Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law."
• Romans 6:1–2: "What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?"
• Romans 7:7: "What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, You shall not covet.'"
• Romans 7:12: "So the law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good."
• Hebrews 6:7–8: "For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned."
• James 2:14: "What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?"
• James 2:17: "So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."
• James 2:21–22: "Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works."
• James 2:26: "For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead."
• 1 John 2:4: "Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,"
• 1 John 3:6: "No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him."
• 1 John 5:18: "We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him."
• 2 John 6: "And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it."
• 2 John 9: "Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son."
• 3 John 11: "Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God."

No, I don't believe that works save. It's repentance and faith that saves, and it's godly works which demonstrate a person is saved after they repent and receive the Holy Spirit.
