The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry
The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry is a Christian movie featuring Gavin McLeod. As the movie begins, a 12-year-old boy who mows lawns repeatedly goes with his two friends to get up the gumption to meet a waitress in his class at school whom he's sweet on. His new customer Mr. Sperry advises him to ask the Lord about the possible relationship, since, "The Lord is interested in everything" (even the girls we like).
While Dustin keeps trying to meet the girl, Sperry uses a simple game to teach a lesson about the importance of reading the Bible and following its directions to reach Heaven. He sends the boys on a treasure hunt. Each is to get a note directing him to meet Sperry in a secret place, but one boy's note misdirects him and Dustin turns out not to have even gotten a note. Each boy represents:
- those who have the Bible and read it
- those who are misdirected
- those who haven't even heard of Jesus and have no Bible
