The Brothers Karamazov (1958 film) was a star-studded movie based on the classic novel The Brothers Karamazov. Another version of the movie was made in Russian in 1969, which was the most popular movie of the year there.
This was the first major movie role of William Shatner, of Star Trek fame.
This 1958 movie in English did moderately well, with its box office revenue of $5.4 million doubling its production cost of $2.7 million. The performances were critically acclaimed, but the movie as a whole received mixed reviews perhaps due to its conservative messages.
