How are "unguided" and "random" different? Evolutionists often bristle at the description of evolution through natural selection as "random", but I have yet to understand what their objection is. I know that natural selection is considered an orderly process, but aren't the mutations supposed to occur at random? --Ed Poor ^Talk 12:44, 8 April 2008 (EDT)

I think its because if you mix 2 processes, one random and one not random, the ending result is not random (like how puzzle pieces come scattered randomly inside a box, but a non-random human arranges them into an ordered picture, however in this case you need an intelligent entity that doesn't fit evolution). Ed there are a large number of religious people who believe that there is no such thing as a process operating outside of God's control/influence. By writing the article the way that you have, you are saying that they are wrong. I believe the way it was written accounted for that without taking a position either way.
