Medicare for All

Now, perhaps some analysis is in order. In both of our links, we are using outdated Congresses (it's presently the 117th Congress). The number of the bill gives an indication of the priority of the bill. From the 115th to the 116th, the bill sank from 676 to 1384. Having not passed earlier, its chances fell even more, which is why some members bailed. The site even gives us updates:

• 115th: Cosponsor statistics: 124 current - includes 51 original
• 116th: Cosponsor statistics: 118 current - includes 106 original

So, sponsorship of a bill like this tells us little about a member's practical or ideological stance, and more about the garbage talking points they are willing to use in their district to win elections (hence, more about the corrupt, ignorant idiots and voters in a particular district than about a member's own views or agenda). Yah, it shows he's a little more practical than most, and probably lives in a swing or near-swing district. He jumped on the bandwagon when it had momentum, but cut his losses when he saw it was a loser.
