Agnostic

The agnostic label comes from reference 1, 6 lines down in the first paragraph. Learn together 18:45, 14 December 2007 (EST)

Ta. For his sake, I'm sorry to hear that. For the sake of quoting him, it's good to know. Philip J. Rayment 19:09, 14 December 2007 (EST)
Actually, I've now read that interview right through, and it's very interesting. Thanks for finding and linking that. If only every atheist would read it. Philip J. Rayment 19:24, 14 December 2007 (EST)
Yes, I have a great deal of respect for him. Have you ever followed the creator of Babylon V? He is an atheist, but has written some of the most respectful episodes about Christian monks that you will find. He feels a deep debt of gratitude for the contributions made in saving literature during the dark ages and actually has allowed it to come through in his work. It is a breath of fresh air. I did watch much of Babylon 5, but can't say that I noticed anything that I would describe as "some of the most respectful episodes about Christian monks that you will find". Although given that there's probably not much else... Philip J. Rayment 01:04, 16 December 2007 (EST)
[1] was one of my favorite episodes. The monks are being exactly what they are called to be and even under the worst of circumstances staying true to their vows and beliefs. How many times do we see that in Hollywood? Sheridan is the one who doesn't want to forgive, but for brother Theo he does so even if it is difficult because it is what he is called to do. They also mention Jesus respectfully, and not as a curse word or from hypocrisy. I found it to be very refreshing. Brother Theo appears in 2 other episodes that I remember in smaller roles, and all are respectful. Learn together 02:25, 16 December 2007 (EST)
I do recall the monks being presented fairly respectfully, but don't recall them being particularly Christian. I.e., they simply appeared to be "religious people", with their religion undefined. However, looking here, it does appear that they were explicitly Christian, which I must have forgotten (presuming I saw that episode). Philip J. Rayment 03:22, 16 December 2007 (EST)
Yes, they actually mention Jesus without it being a curse word. They actually tell the story of Jesus for almost a minute, which in Hollywood terms is the equivalent of a blue moon. It's a shame Hollywood started to ostracize his B5 series and its spinoff. He wasn't a Hollywood man and went public with the memo that TNT sent him telling him he needed to put more sex and violence in his Crusade series -- it wasn't renewed.
