From Conservapedia
Wait til the stories about Sunak being Putin's illegitimate son come out. I'm sitting on it, for now. RobSIch bin ein breakfast taco 16:38, October 24, 2022 (EDT)
"Depleted uranium dirty nuclear weapons"
huh? Depleted uranium shells are indeed slightly radioactive, but they are a far cry from dirty bombs. Depleted Uranium is used because it is incredibly dense, so kinetic projectiles (bullets, artillery shells, etc.) hit with more kinetic energy. Depleted uranium is also useful as tank armor, ship ballast, and in the balancing of aircraft. Safe? It depends. Healthy? No, not if you're eating it or otherwise bringing it into your body. But artillery shells containing it are a very far cry from dirty bombs. --DavidB4 (TALK) 04:24, May 16, 2023 (EDT)
- When one shell goes through a tank, yes it contaminates the soil (or desert) in the surrounding area; when hundreds of them go off at once in a storage bunker, it's a dirty nuke.
- The Russians made a conscious, public decision in the 1980s NOT to respond to the NATO provocation by building their own depleted uranium shells, and made clear then that they would regard use of depleted uranium as use of a nuclear weapon. The United States and NATO DO NOT dictate or set the standard of what is, and what is not, as dirty nuke. RobSGive Peace a chance 05:46, May 16, 2023 (EDT)
