Talk:RINO of the Year 2024

Should Donald Trump be on this list?

This may sound a bit odd, considering that I've previously stated that there's no point to nominating anybody but Donald Trump for Conservative of the Year. But to clarify, that was my optimistic side talking. Now it's time for my pessimistic side's turn to speak.

We need to talk about Trump's post-election appointments. Out of the "Big Four" cabinet positions (Departments of State, Treasury, Defense, and Justice), none of his picks are fit to advance the America First agenda in their respective departments. We have a neocon as Secretary of State, a former Soros executive as Secretary of the Treasury, and another neocon as Secretary of Defense. And if Sundance is to be believed, we also have an Attorney General who long ago proved that she cannot be trusted to stop the weaponization of criminal justice designed to advance political agendas, and is also a registered foreign lobbyist for a country with ties to al-Qaeda and ISIS (Qatar). Beyond that, we have multiple lower-level positions which are also going to be run by neocons, including Ambassador to Israel, Ambassador to the UN, National Security Advisor, and Presidential Envoy for Special Missions. And lastly, we somehow have Big Tech oligarchs serving as presidential advisors.

Does this team look America First, even in the slightest? I don't think so. If Trump goes through with these picks, he will have squandered his unprecedented victory in perhaps record time. And unlike in 2016, nobody can blame his bad picks on "rookie mistakes." He should have learned from said mistakes by now, and if he hasn't then he can only blame himself when the ugly consequences rear their heads. --Geopolitician (talk) 00:25, December 27, 2024 (EST)

I understand your point. Unfortunately, we have many people who believe the Trump administration is a conservative administration, whereas the impact and presence of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and others in both the campaign & administration makes it a Unity government. RobSThe Truth. Just Putin It Out There 01:41, December 27, 2024 (EST)
UPDATE #1: After the recent H-1B fiasco on Twitter, I'm proposing an alternate RINO of the year: Elon Musk. He has become the face of what appears to be a hostile takeover of the incoming second Trump administration. That of course outweighs any positive contribution he made to the Trump campaign during the election cycle.--Geopolitician (talk) 11:49, December 28, 2024 (EST)
We don't even know if Elon is a Republican. RobSThe Truth. Just Putin It Out There 23:43, December 31, 2024 (EST)
UPDATE #2: Pam Bondi just appointed Chad Mizelle to be her chief of staff. The same Chad Mizelle who served as legal advisor to Rod Rosenstein, and the same Chad Mizelle who wrote the scope memos authorizing the Mueller "investigation." Sundance was right about her.--Geopolitician (talk) 12:00, December 28, 2024 (EST)

Some Last Minute Proposals Before the New Year

Mike Johnson, for obvious reasons.
Every House Republican who voted for any of the CRs put forth in December.
Dan Crenshaw, for his petty threats to sue pro-Trump influences such as "Catturd" for reminding people of his past FEC violations.
Elon Musk, for obvious reasons.
And some dishonorable mentions of foreign leaders:
Benjamin Netanyahu, for his role in the HTS takeover of Syria.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for his role in the HTS takeover of Syria.
Yoon Suk Yeol, for obvious reasons.--Geopolitician (talk) 23:40, December 31, 2024 (EST)
