Athens was never ruled by the Minoans. Athens would have payed tribute, but the city was never occupied or administered by Crete.

The paragraph is referring to the myth of King Minos. The man from Athens kills the Minoan in the Olympics, Minoa attacks Athens, throws people into the labyrinth ... all myth. -- Jeff W. Lauttamus_Discussion 14:35, 11 November 2009 (EST)
