"Internet atheism" is not representative of atheists

Most atheists probably don't care about religion enough to participate in internet atheist forums. —LT Rev. 22:13 Wednesday, 10:43, September 20, 2023 (EDT)

See Atheism and apathy
The apathy of atheists is one of the reasons why desecularization is a trend from a global perspective and why this trend will accelerate in the 21st century (See: Causes of desecularization). See also: Acceleration of 21st century desecularization and Growth of global desecularization
It is also helping to cause the decline of internet atheism and the growth of the web traffic of various Christian websites. See: Internet evangelism: Christians vs. atheists
Future Shock is a 1970 book written by American futurist Alvin Toffler and his spouse Adelaide Farrell. The book defines the term "future shock" as a certain psychological state of individuals and entire societies. A concise definition for the term "future shock" in the book is a personal perception of "too much change in too short a period of time".

A psychogenic illness is one that originates in the mind or in a mental condition. Psychosomatic disorders and mental illness that is not caused by an underlying physical condition are examples of psychogenic illnesses.

There are definitely secular progressives, who are having great difficulty adjusting to the growth of religion in the world and its effects on societies due to future shock. For example, the website Marketwatch reported concerning the aftermath of the 2016 presidential race: Donald Trump’s win is causing a surge in demand for mental health services.[1] See also: Secular leftists and psychogenic illness

And this desecularization is going to increase in terms of its pace (See: Acceleration of 21st-century desecularization).

Due to a string of socially conservative rulings of the U.S. Supreme Court in terms of cases related to abortion, school choice and religious schools (Carson v. Makin) and other social matters, and secular leftists being poorly able to mentally handle these societal changes, the secular left in the United States is getting further and further unhinged.

Of course, religious people can handle societal change better than secular leftists because they are mentally tougher (see: Atheism and mental toughness).

Wayne Rainey, professional motorcycle racer: "As a racer you always have that in the back of your mind that. You always wonder "When is it going to happen?" Because it will happen. You will fall off.".

I hope this clarifies matters. Conservative (talk) 10:50, September 20, 2023 (EDT)

That in no way addresses my point at all. —LT Rev. 22:13 Wednesday, 10:51, September 20, 2023 (EDT)
You still aren't addressing my argument. Do you want your bubble to be popped now or at Final Judgment when it's too late? —LT Rev. 22:13 Wednesday, 10:59, September 20, 2023 (EDT)

Creating atheist websites take effort. Apathetic atheists will not create atheist websites.

Doing overseas evangelism and relief outreaches to third-world countries, often requires significant hardships/persecution and Western atheists have been unwilling to endure such hardships in order to spread atheistic ideology (see: Atheism and hedonism).

The internet is similar to airpower in military conflicts. Christendom has "air superiority" in the atheism vs. Christianity war! Deus vult! Conservative (talk) 11:04, September 20, 2023 (EDT)

Alright, you finally are sort of addressing my point. You continue to gleefully hopscotch around on false hopes stemming from trivial "victories"—sure, atheism vs. Christianity is manifested on the internet, but the official "atheist movement" means nothing to the large bulk of atheism. Atheist forums are just echo chambers which have little net impact on the number of atheists, which has increased dramatically here in the U.S. because conservative Christians aren't doing enough to preach the gospel and at least educate their children to not be lukewarm. —LT Rev. 22:13 Wednesday, 11:09, September 20, 2023 (EDT)
Atheism and its retention rate in individuals
Next, internet evangelism works. Study Reveals Internet Evangelism Is Effective, Christian Post
Given the low retention rate of atheists historically, anti-atheism content and internet evangelism is likely going to have an effect. Irenaeus spent time arguing against Gnosticism. So Christians engaging in Christian apologetics relative to criticizing another worldview is nothing new. Conservative (talk) 11:15, September 20, 2023 (EDT)
Oh yeah, speaking of Irenaeus's book Against Heresies, modern neo-Gnosticism is a larger problem than atheism. Why don't you go fight that now, since "the atheist movement is dead" according to you? The battle isn't over yet. —LT Rev. 22:13 Wednesday, 11:16, September 20, 2023 (EDT)

No. Internet evangelism and addressing Islam online is a higher priority than neo-Gnosticism. Islam is a big dog. Neo-gnosticism is a small dog. Given the power of the internet, it is better to focus on big dogs for major online initiatives rather than small dogs. And any anti-atheism content I would create on another website would be for overall web traffic enhancement and to address the perennial problem of doubt in humanity. Conservative (talk) 11:23, September 20, 2023 (EDT)

Another consideration, internet evangelism is meant to cause people to switch religions/worldviews. So it is probably better to focus on audiences/countries where religious pluralism is prevalent. Because people switching religions/worldviews is more prevalent in areas of the world where there is religious pluralism. Conservative (talk) 11:30, September 20, 2023 (EDT)
Do you have any concept of how Gnosticism works? For example, do you at least understand that the alt-right (a broadly secular movement, by the way), is a form of Gnosticism? —LT Rev. 22:13 Wednesday, 11:39, September 20, 2023 (EDT)

I agree with your point, Conservative. If Christianity wins the Internet battle with Atheism, very, very many Souls would be saved who otherwise would be lost if we did not. This is especially true because the Number of Internet Users, which was around 1 BN not that long ago, recently crossed an amazing 5 BN, and will, in 10 years or so, be nearly the entire world population. Joshua Project estimates that a possible 2 BN Souls have not yet heard the Gospel. Interestingly, it may be just around 2030 or 2033, the 2000th Anniversary of Christ's Ministry and Christ's Crucifixion/Resurrection/Pentecost respectively, that the entire world gets to hear the Gospel. The end cannot come until that occurs, per Christ's Word in Matthew 24:14: "And this Gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world, as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come". The Internet is definitely going to play a large part in making that happen. NishantXavierFor Christ the King 09:37, September 23, 2023 (EDT)

"In 2005, only about 1.1 billion people used the internet ... As of 2023, the number of Internet Users has crossed an amazing 5 Billion Souls: "How many people use the internet daily in 2023? 5.07 billion people use the internet daily." [5] The potential for Online Evangelism in this context is massive and must be realized quickly." https://www.conservapedia.com/Number_of_Internet_Users NishantXavierFor Christ the King 09:37, September 23, 2023 (EDT)

Seems a bit excessive to me, and I don't think it's warranted. —LT Rev. 22:13 Sunday, 20:14, September 23, 2023 (EDT)
