Telling: Can you tell us more about the Feast of Tabernacles? My understanding, based on New Testament, that 'tabernacle" can be interpreted as "dwelling place" (1 Cor. 3:16, Jn 14:2). RobSZelensky Must Go! 00:26, August 3, 2025 (EDT)

1. Tabernacle in the desert. Ex 25:8: And they shall make Me a sanctuary and I will dwell in their midst. - was a [special] dwelling place for the Devine Presence.

The portable complex in which God chose to dwell among the Israelites. Built shortly after the exodus from Egypt.

2. The Festival of Sukkoth: Lev. 23:42. The holiday of Sukkot has two essences: on the one hand, it is a holiday of farmers who rejoice and celebrate before their God at the arrival of the harvest season, and on the other hand, it is a holiday of remembrance that marks an important event in the annals of the people. This holiday marks the event that occurred in the youth of the people when God brought them out of the house of slavery to give them a land flowing with milk and honey. On the way, during the wanderings of the Children of Israel in the desert, God made them dwell in booths for the shade of their day. And this remembrance is part of the commemoration of the Exodus from Egypt.

And here is from source:

Sukkot is a weeklong Jewish holiday that comes five days after Yom Kippur. Sukkot celebrates the gathering of the harvest and commemorates the miraculous protection G‑d provided for the children of Israel when they left Egypt. We celebrate Sukkot by dwelling in a foliage-covered booth (known as a sukkah) and by taking the “Four Kinds” (arba minim), four special species of vegetation.

So the "garden of cucumbers" of Isaiah 1:8 is a reference to Sukkot? RobSZelensky Must Go! 00:50, August 3, 2025 (EDT)
You refer to: "And the daughter of Zion shall be left like a hut in a vineyard, like a lodge in a cucumber field, like a besieged city." The verse contains two separate ideas in one sentence of illustration. The first illustrative idea, which is translation of Sukkah [singular], here it means hut or booth. Then comes the illustration: of "lodge in a cucumber field."Telling (talk) 01:09, August 3, 2025 (EDT)
