origins

Someone smarter than me should really research that claim that Go originated in the third millenium BC. It probably isn't nearly that old, and stories that say it is are probably just legends. The earliest historical records of the game date from around 500 BC. There are legends that Socrates invented chess, too, but that doesn't mean he did. RightOfCenter 11:48, 9 May 2008 (EDT)
