Nigeria, as classified by Samuel Huntington, is also a cleft country, with 55% Muslim and 45% Christian. It's probably more of a powder keg than Ukraine with it's declining population since both Christian and Muslim Nigerians have high birthrates.
Again, you see the fallacy of modern nation states; Nigeria never would have came into existence on its own. It's an experiment by its French overlords and a handful of local collaborators who benefit, to create a single nation out of divergent religious populations and tribes. It has no official language other than French. And like Ukraine, there is no universal nationality that identifies as "Nigerian". RobSGive Peace a chance 04:08, February 5, 2023 (EST)
- "Religious Demography. The U.S. government estimates the total population at 219.5 million (midyear 2021). The Pew Global Religious Futures project estimates the country is roughly evenly divided between Muslims and Christians, while approximately 2 percent belong to other or no religious groups."[1]
- Christianity in Nigeria. The Anglicanism in Africa is more conservative than the Anglicanism in developed countries. So maybe Anglicanism in Nigeria is not bleeding membership. But, Nigerian Christians are losing the demographic war: Signs of genocide appear to be growing. Conservative (talk) 04:23, February 5, 2023 (EST)
- With its high birthrate, Nigeria is expected to be in the top 5 most populated countries by mid-century (if they don't kill each other first). The landscape in the portion of Africa is destined to look like Sao Paulo or Shanghai. But my point in raising this is, don't get hooked into believing there is such a thing as the "Nigerian nation" - people with a common identity. Nigeria is an experiment created by European colonialists. RobSGive Peace a chance 04:30, February 5, 2023 (EST)
