Talk:Ernst Röhm

Return to "Ernst Röhm" page.

"Hitler also proceeded to personally execute Röhm after catching him and his driver sleeping together in a hotel room during the culmination of the Night of the Long Knives." Is there a better source for this claim? The source cited (The Pink Swastika) does not appear to support it. Hitler certainly ordered his assassination, but according to most sources the killing was carried out by SS-Brigadeführer Theodor Eicke and/or SS-Obersturmbannführer Michael Lippert after Röhm refused to commit suicide while under arrest.--Brossa (talk) 21:14, 20 August 2017 (EDT)

Consensus narrative: Roehm was given a pistol and told to "do the honorable thing." Ten minutes later when no gunshot was heard, the guards did the honorable thing for him. Roehm shouted "Heil Hitler!" as they shot him. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 07:57, 2 July 2018 (EDT)
